About Invest Appalachia
Invest Appalachia (IA) is a collaborative impact investment platform created by and for the people of Central Appalachia. Operating across Appalachian counties of Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee, IA is a regionally representative fund that leverages deep relationships and investments from partners in philanthropy, community finance, and community economic development. By blending capital and forging partnerships, IA creates new financial products, programs, and collaborations that address community priorities, helping investment-worthy projects become investment-ready. The organization is governed by a regionally representative board of directors, managed by staff located in Appalachia, and guided by a Community Advisory Council that ensures accountability to regional communities.
